Due to planned works and safety drills, the Fréjus tunnel will be completely closed this week. However, for several nights in July, traffic will be redirected there.
Due to a safety drill, the Fréjus tunnel on the Italian-French border will be completely closed from Monday evening, 8 July. It will be impassable in both directions from 22:00 today until 06:00 tomorrow (Tuesday, 9 July).
In addition, this month the tunnel manager, SFTRF, has scheduled a number of dates when night traffic will alternate. This will allow for safety improvement works to be carried out at the facility. The nights in question are: 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, and 31 July.
From 22:30 on the dates indicated above until 04:30 the following morning.
