Hungarian Railways confirms when key Budapest rail freight crossing will be closed

The bridge will be closed for 72-hour and 10-hour intervals on various dates until the end of the year.

Hungarian Railways (MAV) has issued a notice regarding upcoming maintenance works on the Gubacsi Bridge, an important rail freight crossing.

The maintenance will take place in two stages, with the first involving substantial steel structure works and the second focusing on other additional renovations.

Stage I: continuous track closures

The first stage of the maintenance will involve four 72-hour continuous track closures during which no train traffic will be possible on the Gubacsi Bridge.

These closures are scheduled as follows:

September 21, 2024 (7:00 AM) to September 24, 2024 (7:00 AM) October 5, 2024 (7:00 AM) to October 8, 2024 (7:00 AM) October 19, 2024 (7:00 AM) to October 22, 2024 (7:00 AM)

Stage 2: daily 10-hour track closures

Following the initial phase, a series of daily 10-hour track closures will be implemented to facilitate further maintenance work.

These closures will occur from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the following dates:

October 25–28, 2024 November 1–4, 2024 November 8–11, 2024 November 15–18, 2024 November 22–25, 2024 November 29–December 2, 2024 December 6–9, 2024 December 13–16, 2024
