Today marks Belgium's ‘Day of the Trucker', a recently devised annual initiative that sees the logistics, warehousing, retail and other sectors show their respect to drivers who deliver their goods all year round. As part of the programme, various free gifts are being offered at different sites in Belgium and Netherlands today, including massages.
According the official event website, more than 100 companies are taking part, including the likes of Raben, Lidl, PostNL, BP, Iveco, Dachser, DAF, Scania, Continental Benelux and P&O Ferrymasters. One of the more unconventional offerings comes from the Profile tyre shop, who together with Goodyear, are to offer free massages to truckers at the Koggestraat parking area by the Port of Zeebrugge.
The massages will be available onboard the company’s ‘Fitstop’ truck and trailer, which will have a team of professional masseurs onboard. The full list of what is available to lorry drivers and where is available on the official event website. In most cases, goody bags and treats are being given away, while other participants are keeping their offerings under wraps.
