An important tunnel on the Italian-French border will be closed for several nights. The first closure is today.
The Mont Blanc tunnel will be completely closed to traffic for the next few nights to allow maintenance work to be carried out, according to the tunnel operator GEIE-TMB.
The Mont Blanc Tunnel will be closed in both directions on the following dates and times:
- Tonight, March 11th, from 22:00 to March 12th, 6:00
- Tuesday, March 12th, from 22:00 to March 13th, 6:00
- Wednesday, March 13th, from 22:00 to March 14th, 6:00
- Thursday, March 14th, from 22:00 to March 15th, 6:00
- Thursday, March 21st, from 23:00 to March 22nd, 4:00.
In addition, the operator has announced that traffic in the tunnel will alternate between 22:30 and 6:00 on several nights, i.e. Monday 18 March, Tuesday 19 March and Wednesday 20 March.
On these days the toll gates are closed for vehicles travelling to Italy:
- from 22:30 to 23:00,
- from 23:30 to 00:45,
- from 1:30 to 2:45,
- from 3:30 to 04:45,
- from 5:15 to 6:00.
The toll gates to France will be closed at the following times:
- from 22:30 to 23:45
- from 00:30 to 1:45
- from 2:30 to 3:45
- from 4:30 to 5:30.
