Writing on its Facebook page earlier this week, the company said it had invested in new thermal cameras at Clacket Lane and Magor service stations.

In the words of the motorway services operator, the cameras are designed “to ensure safety and protect drivers during their breaks”.

Roadchef added that it was “excited to be part of the journey to keep drivers safe and sound!”.

The move comes following increased reports of cargo thefts at motorway service stations across the country.

The Magor site can be found on the M4 at Junction 23A. Meanwhile, the Clacket Lane services is located between junctions 5 and 6 on the M25, with separate buildings serving traffic on both sides of the motorway.
